Nessa nodded and lead Sormy round. "I'm sorry, Stormy." she whispered.

Angela saw a blue truck come into the driveway, and a women jumped out with a bag. "Are you the vet?" she asked, walking over to her.
"Yes, someone called and said you had a colic?" She asked, looking around at the stable.

Kristen hurried over to the mare, pulling an shot full of antibiotics out of her bag. "How long has she been this way?" she asked as she pushed the needle into a vein in Stormy's neck.
Angela bit her lip as she watched her best horse get the shot. "I'm not sure, I found her pacing in her stall around ten minutes ago," she said, hoping that Stormy would pull through.

Nessa felt a tear slip down her cheek. This was all her fault. She put her arms around Stormy.

Angela felt tears in her eyes as she watched her old mare look at her and Nessa like, 'What's wrong with me?'
Kristen took out some muscle relaxants for Stormy's spasmodic colic, and pushed the needle into the vein in her throat. "That should help her, but I'm not sure if she'll make it through the night, she's getting so far in years," she said, trying to remain calm and composed around them.

Nessa couldn't help herself and burst into tears, sobbing into Stormy's neck. She couldn't believe this was happening, and it was all her fault. It was like a nightmare.

Kristen watched Nessa cry into Stormy's neck with sad eyes. "Why don't you try walking her around for a bit. When she gets tired, put her back in her stall, she won't roll then, she'll be too tired and she'll just rest."
Angela tried not to cry. She walked forward and placed her hand on Nessa's shoulder.

Nessa nodded, still tearful, and continued walking Stormy around. She couldn't even look Angela in the eye.

Kristen left in her truck, hoping for the best.
Angela covered her face in her hands and let her tears fall.

Nessa took deep breaths, trying to calm herself. She felt awful, but getting upset and upsetting Stormy wouldn't do.

"Why don't we let her have a break, maybe try to get her to drink some warm water?" Angela said, walking up to Nessa.

Nessa nodded and asked Stormy to stand. "I'll go and get the water." she muttered, not looking at Angela and chucking her the lead rope. She filled a bucked with water, making sure it was room temperature, this time.

Angela lead Stormy into her stall, letting her lay down in the straw. She didn't roll, thank gosh!

Nessa brough the water back and looked at Angela, wondering whether she'd want to give her the water.

"Why don't you go get a handful of feed or hay, see if she might eat that," Angela said softly, rubbing Stormy's back slowly. "Even if she eats, she might not be out of the woods, yet."

Nessa nodded and went to the feed room, putting a small handful of feed into a bucket. She took it back to the stable, and held it out to Stormy.

Stormy sniffed it, but didn't eat. Angela had been hoping so much that she would at least nibble at the feed.

Angela bit her lip, hoping that Stormy would at least nibble at the feed, even if she didn't eat. Stormy snorted ducked her head away. "Why don't we try walking her around some more, maybe after that she'll eat," she said.
