I decided to make like an online journal of my horse training stuff right here! So I won't have to keep making new threads to tell you guys whats been going with the horses! I have some from before but I think I will start posting once I start training again taking time off cause of the rain. I will also post everything I figure out about the horses around and seems to be true with every horse I work with. #1. A well placed scratch is worth more to a horse then a treat. The horses I have worked with tend to like having their withers and girth area scratched. #2. If reword the horse with a rubbing in rythem around their face the way you would like to be rubbed works wondered on having them drop their head happily to you. #3. Not all horses like to tapped and patted, the slapping tapping sound and session if you can pat your horse across his withers, back, rear, everywhere on his neck, under his belly, on his flanks, and on his face you got a pretty desenstized horse now if you can do it with them flexed and jumping up and down you are in good shape. I learned all this from Pat Parreli and Clinton Anderson. I have used it on three different horses and trust me scratching the withers is better then treats, Marya loves it, and so does the other two, they can't really get that spot with their teeth. PS I was bored to so I posted this
