Natasha felt good as she walked into the stable. Her blond hair was pulled back into a french braid and she wore light blue jeans with a cute white t-shirt. She always had to make sure she wore the best. Towards the end of the barn was her horse, Lucky. It was a cliche name, but Natasha couldn't bring herself to change it. In his stall, Lucky was already being his obnxious self. He whinnied when he saw Natasha and began to pace in the stall. She raised an eyebrow, wondering why the heck did my aunt stick me with you? "We aren't riding yet," Natasha said coldly. "Just get settled in first, got it?" What the heck was she doing? She was talking to him like he would actually speak back to her. Slowly she reached out to pet his long face, which actually seemed to calm him down a bit. Natasha then looked around the barn. She didn't see anyone else around. That made her feel good. She wasn't really the one to meet new people. Infact, she hated people practically. She was always so mean and cold to them right from the start. And that's one of the reasons why her aunt stuck her in this place.

Kayla walked into stable smiling letting her mind drift to different thoughts, she almost chuckled at her thoughts life had been good lately, she whistled and heard her horses neigh and laughed walking up to Bailey. "Hey there cute boy," She said with a laugh letting him lip the carrot out of her hand, and moved to Jagger, "Hey there pretty boy!" She laughed rubbing his neck and laughed when he whinnied and whipped his head eagerly wanting his treat. "Oh you silly pretty boy." She laughed and walked to Marya, "Hey there ol' man, how is my handsome boy today?" He nickered and nuzzled her hand and she wrapped her arms around his neck, "I love you too." She said with a smile and fed him his treat.

Natasha turned around slightly when she heard someone talking to their horses. It was another girl, and she was feeding her horse a treat. Natasha turned back to Lucky, rolling her eyes. So much for being alone. She contemplated introducing herself, and decided against it. If this person wanted to know Natasha, then she would make the effort to talk to her. Besides, Natasha didn't really want friends quite yet. She was now beginning to get competitive about her riding, and friends would just get in the way of that. Plus, Natasha wasn't the nicest person in the world.
Lucky nudged Natasha's hand, wanting her to keep petting him. Abesntmindedly, she did stroke his long face. "Someone is affectionate," she said with a slight smile. "For once." Natasha turned around again and looked at the girl. Lucky then bit Natasha's hand, making her jump. "Well that lasted long."

Kayla smiled and rubbed Marya's face before turning to Jagger and quickly slipping his rope halter on and hooking him to the tie ring outside his stall. She turned and saw someone and smiled. "Hey your new right?" She asked with a smile before getting her grooming tools and started over Jagger's dark brindle coat. He snorted and dipped his head against the the lead but jerked it up when he noticed another person near them and neighed. "This is Jagger by the way and I'm Kayla." She said with a smile still brushing the big gelding with a practice movement. She smiled and stroked over his body after each stroke loving the feel of his smooth coat.

Natasha turned her head to look at the girl who was speaking to her. She said her name was Kayla, and she introduced her horse, Jagger. Natasha simply nodded, first not wanting to introduce herself. But she forced herself to say, "Yup, it's my first day here. I'm Natasha, and that's Lucky." She barely looked at Kayla as she spoke and lightly stroked Lucky's neck. Once Lucky reached to bite her again, Natasha quickly pulled her hand away and raised an eyebrow at him. Then she looked back at Kayla. "Pretty horse," she said quietly with slight irritation in her voice. It wasn't Kayla that got her irritated, it was Lucky who was being quite obnoxious with his constant whinnying. "Shush, Lucky."

Kayla looked over and nodded, '"Not fun being new." She mumbled going back to Jagger, the big gelding was still snorting and looking at the other two, she smiled and shook her head Jagger sure could be a drama king when he wanted to be. She heard the annoyance in the girls voice but didn't care whether it was directed at her or the horse that seemed to not get along with the girl very well. Kayla glanced over her shoulder and said, "Thanks," She looked back to her horse and then said, "Lucky a Thoroughbred?" She asked keeping up the steady flick of the brush going over Jagger's body.

Natasha felt weird having a conversation. At her old school, she couldn't have a five minute conversation with someone without insulting them or swearing at them. Though, she kept her cool for once when Kayla started the conversation with her. "Uh, yes, an obnoxious one at that," Natasha said, glaring at Lucky. He continued to whinny and bob his head. It was embarrassing having a naughty horse like him. Kayla seemed to get along pretty well with her horse. It made Natasha slightly jealous. Many times Natasha wondered if she should just sell Lucky. Though a part of her didn't want to part him. It was like having a brother and sister relationship, and it was the closest Natasha would ever get to a relationship like that since she was an only child. "Um, how long have you been riding here?" Natasha asked awkwardly.

Kayla finished with brushing the gelding body and lifted his hooves and started to work on them, and then worked on his back hoof while she chuckled lightly. "They all have their ticks sounds like his is stating his opinion." She said with a smile, dropping Jagger's hoof. "Jagger's is over reacting after jumping or when he sees a jump he goes nutty, but not if their low then he's fine." She said with a shrug and slipped her hoof pick back into her pocket and answered the question. "A little over a year I think, awhile now." She answered and slipped Jagger back into his stall and got Bailey out, the gelding snorted and neighed at the other horse and human before shoving Kayla with his head, she quickly caught the stall door and started to curse slightly under breath. "Bailey why do you insist on knocking me down?"

Natasha had a small smile on her face when she saw Kayla's other horse knock her over. At least now she didn't feel weird having a naughty horse. The smile quickly disappeared as she walked towards Kayla slowly. "Lucky and I barely ever get along. My aunt bought him for me as a surprise. She insisted that after time we would get used to each other." Natasha shook her head. Her and her aunt got along sometimes. The thing that got the two angry at each other was riding horses and how exactly to get Natasha 'out in the open'. Natasha liked being alone, but her aunt said it wasn't normal for her to never be out with friends. Natasha was way different than other people, mostly since both her parents were dead. She never brought up the death of her parents to other people. Too weird of a subject. "Lucky basically freaks over everything. I think the thing he hates the most is me."

Kayla smiled and hooked Bailey up and started to work with the brush over his chestnut body, she thought a moment, she had never gotten a horse for a gift or without scratching and clawing her way to enough money to buy one, finally she got to the point of owning her three horses, she felt no envy or jealousy for it, "Well I don't think people and horses "need time" to used to each other. People and horses have a bond, people chose to make it or break it. Sure it can take time to build but what your aunt said doesn't sound like the right way to put it to me." She said still brushing her horse, she didn't think there was anything wrong with Natasha's knowing of horses and wasn't judging her, she just believed in a bond with animals. "I don't think any animals hates anyone, I think it just takes time and training, horses have a natural bond with people, just takes time." She said with a shrug still working over the geldings body she finished with her work and then picked his hooves, she didn't know why she had said what she said and then added. "Sorry if I sound like a babbling fool, I don't usually talk like that or that much for the matter." She said still picking at Bailey's hooves.

Natasha actually smiled again. Usually when she was looking for advice about horses, which she barely did, they talked to her like she was some idiot. But Kayla was actually nice and understanding about it. It made Natasha think twice about being mean or cold to her. "Nah, you aren't a fool or anything. It's actually nice to have some good advice for once. My aunt knows nothing about horses and she always stuck me with the worst trainers. She basically just had me get into horses so she wouldn't have to deal with me. Another reason why she dumped me off here." Natasha felt weird about sharing so much about her life with someone she'd barely known for even ten minutes. Kayla, though, seemed like a person she could easily trust. Other kids at her old school always told other people's secrets right when they had the chance and judged them right away. Natasha's smile disappeared. She watched as Kayla picked out Bailey's hooves. "Lucky barely ever lets me touch his hooves," Natasha mumbled to herself.

Kayla dropped Bailey's hoof and slipped her pick back into her pocket and looked to Natasha. "Yeah well I get having to deal with people who know nothing about horses, my entire family was like that well except my mom. But everyone else in my family thought they or more so thinks they're worthless." She said with a little anger in her voice, no one could tick her off like her family or more so their thoughts on horses. She finished with Bailey and slipped him back into his stall before getting Marya out and started working on his mane. She smiled and leaned on his shoulder looking at the other girl. "A friend of mine used to have a four year old colt that if you even close to his rear he kicked at you and if you picked up his front feet he'd year sent my cousin into a cart wheel. He was quiet the spitfire." She said with a small smile thinking of the colt, and then worked on Marya some more, "So how long you been into horses?" She asked with a smile.

Natasha walked towards the horse that Kayla had brought out, petting it's head slowly. She made sure to stay off to his side so he would be able to see him. "My aunt always pretends to know what she is talking about, but she is a complete idiot and airhead. The only thing she cares about is the money she inherited from my mom when she, uh...died." Her heart raced as she mentioned her mother's death. Quickly, she changed the subject. "I've been riding for about six years. I always used to have a soft spot for animals since I was a really little kid." Natasha continued to pet the horse's head. "It doesn't really seem like it, though, since I can barely get along with my own horse. I try to be nice to him, but he's only interested in biting my hands or looking for treats." She pursed her lips after she was done speaking. Constently she made sure to keep a straight face. She already wanted to kick herself for mentioning too much about her history.

Kayla chuckled but it wasn't a humor one it was a slightly dry annoyed one, "She sounds like my uncle in a way, he thinks he's always right and he is usually wrong you say different he fights with you, yells at you is more like it." She said with a frown and continued to work on Marya's coat, "Sept he doesn't really care about money, sept for being an annoying know it all he took care of me and my mom for over a year on top of his family." She said with a sigh, sometimes she sounded like she hated her uncle but she would always be thankful for the help he had givin them. She let it drop at that, she wasn't going to say she understood or anything for that matter about what Natasha had said about her mother. She smiled and clucked lightly tapping Marya's back hoof and he lifted with her having to grab it. She cleaned it and went around to his other back foot. She stood up and leaned on his back and said, "That's cool I have been riding for twelve years I think." She smiled as Marya nickered dipping his head to the girl that walked up, "This is Marya by the way." She said with a smile scratching his withers and getting him to twist his head and twitch his lips. "That's his favorite treat after working, getting his withers scratched." She laughed when he swayed a little and stopped, "Silly boy get your balance." Kayla smiled at the other girl, "Sounds like a real vice horse, they are always fun, once their good you look back and your like whoa! I really did that? Is that really my horse? Its a great feeling." Kayla said with a smile and picked Marya's other feet out.

Natasha felt good knowing that she wasn't the only one who had some problems with a family member. She always thought that she had the most problems than anybody else. Natasha, though, was now coming to realize that she wasn't the only one who had a bad history. She watched as Kayla picked out Marya's hooves. "Lucky and I really just need to get on the same page. You really seem to know a lot about horses. Um, do you think you could help out Lucky and I?" Natasha couldn't believe she was asking that question. Usually had to be desperate to ask someone to help her. But with Lucky being so naughty, she didn't know what to do. Natasha easily could have asked her trainer, who she still hadn't met yet, for some help. But Kayla actually seemed to know what she was talking about. "Well, I mean, if it's not too much trouble. I bet you have your hands full with all your horses." Natasha always wanted to buy another horse, but she never really had the money to. Plus, her aunt would never sacrifice so much money again to buy Natasha another horse. And Natasha couldn't work well with others, so a job was completely out of the question.

Kayla smiled and dropped Marya's foot and slipped her pick back into her pocket. She finished her work on the gelding and opened his stall and pointed with a cluck and he walked in and turned to face her, she slipped off his halter and said. "Good boy." She smiled and closed the door and answered Natasha. "Yeah with a little work I'm sure you two would work great together." She smiled and then added, "I would love to help you out, and nope not to busy. Right now all three of my horses are getting groundwork tune ups mostly Bailey though cause as you saw he is a bit pushy." She said with a smile, she liked helping people and never turned down people who asked for help. "Each of my horses are their own form of handful so its no trouble," She said with a smile, she tended to juggle a lot of work at once cause that's just how she was always pushing herself and others to do their best. Kayla popped her knuckles and leaned on Marya's stall and smiled as the gelding rested his head on her shoulder.

Natasha's smile got bigger. She then looked back at Lucky, who was still bobbing his head like an idiot. He then paced around in his stall. He wasn't really used to being cooped up in a stall. At their old stable, he was a pasture horse since there wasn't enough stalls for all the horses. "I'm so happy you can help!" Natasha said. "It would be good for Lucky to have interaction with the other horses here, too. He's going to explode if he has to stay in that stall for much longer." She looked back at Kayla and tried to keep her smile under control. "How long have you owned your horses? I've only had Lucky for a few years, and I've been kinda hoping to look for another horse." Natasha knew it was completely out of her price range to even think about buying another horse, but she just couldn't help herself. When she first started riding she always pictured herself owning a whole stable of horses. Now she realized that that would be too much for her to handle, but she figured she would be okay with two horses.

Kayla smiled looking to Lucky, he seemed a bit wound up but that was normal for them in a new place. She crossed her arms and smiled looking back to Natasha, "No problem I like helping out anyone I can." She said, she looked around a moment and then stroked Marya's face, "So I take it he's not used to a stall? Seems like he is a bit hyper and yeah I think him interacting with the other horses would be a good idea." Kayla said still stroking Marya, she smiled and looked over to her other two horses that were hanging their heads out of the stalls watching her. She looked back and answered with a smile, "Marya I've owned about three years, Jagger a year, Bailey a month or two." She said with a smile before looking around the stables again, today was a pretty good day so far. "If ya ever need help finding one just let me know I helped my friend pick out a Dressage mare and I got Bailey and Jagger from the auctions, so if you want any help looking just let me know." She said with a smile, she lost tabs on the auctions never knew when knowing about a certain horse would pay off.

"Thanks, it really means a lot to me!" Natasha said. She smiled again and put a hand on her head, moving it down the braid to make sure it was still intact. "I would love to get a good jumper. Lucky doesn't really like jumping, I don't know why. He's more of a trail riding horse, I guess." Natasha really wanted to become a really good jumper, but with Lucky not wanting to do jumping, it meant she really needed to keep a look out for another horse to buy. And with Kayla helping, that should have been a breeze. "And no, he's really not used to one. At our old barn he was more of a pasture horse instead of a stall one. There was a ton of horses there, so there wasn't enough stalls for all of them." Natasha looked back at him, shaking her head at Lucky's whinnying. He then kicked the stall door. "Ughh."

"Don't mention it, its my pleasure I love helping people and their horses." She said with a smile, it was the truth she loved helping others. She sighed and let her mind think a moment and then smiled at the other girl. "I haven't seen him out in the field yet but I think he would make a very nice jumper, any horse can jump once they respect and trust their owner. You'd be surprised how much using ground work can help under saddle and just your relationship with your horse in general." She said with a smile watching Lucky, he seemed hyper enough to be a jumper, but the real question was did he have the athletics to be one? If he did then he just needed a little more respect in his owner. She nodded in understanding, "I have never had my horses where there wasn't enough stalls but that never mattered I keep them turned out as much as possible grass is better then grain in fact I avoid grain except for Glosomething, can't remember what its called but its all natural." She said with a smile, she believed in giving her horses the best care possible. She chuckled a little when the horse kicked his stall and said, "Well he certainly has spunk, which is good." She smiled leaning back on Marya's stall door.

He was different, everyone seemed kinda stuck up but Koltan was lad back and easy going. When Kolten reached his horses stall, ReHab tossed his head and nickered. Kolten smiled and wipped his hands on his ripped jeans and then looked to the girls. He sighed thinking abou Erin.

Natasha smiled again at Kayla, but the smile soon disappeared when she saw a guy walking into the barn. She could feel herself getting shy again at the presence of the new person. She heard him almost chuckle at Lucky, who was still kicking at his stall door. Natasha really didn't want to admit to him being hers at that point. "His spunk gets annoying, though," she said, trying to ignore Lucky. "But it always gives me a laugh." Natasha turned around, sneaking a peak at the guy. He was looking at them, and she quickly turned around. The smile never returned to her face. Though, she was in somewhat of a good mood since she was talking to Kayla, and she was going to try and not be so cold to him if he wanted to talk to her and Kayla. She pursed her lips and took a deep breath. "Are there a lot of other students here?" Natasha asked quietly.

Kolten took ReHab out of his stall and tied him up to a tiedown on his stall door. He loked down to his boots and picked up his right foot to brush off the dry mud on them and then sat it back to the ground with his spurs jingling. He looked back over to the girls and looked to Natasha, bitting his lip and walked to get his grooming stuff.

Kayla smiled and then glanced over her shoulder at who Natasha had seen, it was one of the guys that went there, she didn't know him though just knew he rode there. She looked back at Natasha and smiled, "Yeah to much spunk can get frustrating but once its directed the right way it is good to have if you want them to be a show horse." She smiled and looked over her shoulder again when Natasha asked if there were a lot of students around. "Yeah there a few." She said with a smile, when Jagger lifted his head and noticed another person he snorted, swished his tail and whinnied and Kayla couldn't help but laugh, "Jagger loves people, doesn't give a lick about horses but adores people." She chuckled to herself she loved that about him.

Natasha could almost feel the boy look at her, but she ignored it. Simply she kept her attention on Kayla, forcing a weak smile to her face. "Well, hopefully after help Lucky and I he will calm down a little. I mean, I think he can be a good horse sometimes, but we just stay on different pages." She then had a real smile on her face when Jagger snorted when he saw the other boy in the stable. A small chuckle escaped her chest. "Lucky can be the same way too." Then she looked back at Lucky, who seemed to calm down a little. Natasha sighed in relief.

ReHab turned his head around and nickered to the horses, pawing the ground and bobbing his head. Kolten sighed as he slipped his cell back into his pocket before reaching ReHab with the grooming stuff. Setting the stuff down on the ground softly, Kolten grabbed the rough brush and started taking in across the blue roan coat covered in mud from rolling in the pasture. Kolten looked over to the girls, their talking made it less quiet in here and he liked it, but he was shy to speak up and talk.

Kayla smiled and nodded in thinking. "Yeah I think you two will make a great pair." She grinned, she was enjoying today a lot. She looked over her shoulder again, and wondered if the guy was a loner or just didn't like talking, she just shrugged and looked back to her horse and laughed at what Natasha said, "Yeah I think liking people more is way better then them being crazy herd bound." Kayla was about to add onto that when she heard a bark at the head of the barn, she turned and saw Mojo, uh oh, she thought as he raced in and skidded to a halt before he got to the horse that was out and walked around it and up to the guy and whined. She smacked her forehead and whistled and said, "I'm sorry! Mojo get your butt out of here!" She hissed at the dog and he lunged back out of the barn.

ReHab jumped and kicked out when the dog came barrling in her, spooking him, he was not to use to dogs. Kolten backed up and looked at the dog, and then to the girl. He rubbed his eyes and nodded. Kolten sighed and patted ReHab, "Its okay ReHab", his voice was raspy and rough sounding. ReHab flarried his nostrils and pinned his ears to his skull, flicking his tail like he was irritated.

Natasha watched as the dog ran over to the boy and his horse, scaring the living crap out of his horse. She then watched as the dog ran out of the barn and right in Natasha's path. Quickly she tried to get out of the way, but the dog grazed her ankle, tripping her as she tried to get away. She put her hands behind her, catching herself so she wouldn't fall right to the ground. Instead of getting mad, like she would have with anybody else's dog, she actually laughed a little. Then she gathered her wits and stood up, wiping the dirt off of her hands. Her hands then went to her hair to make sure her french braid was still in. Then she wiped off her clothes, just some dirt coming off. Natasha then watched as the boy tried to calm his horse.
