((HUNTER INTERMEDIATE)) highest jump at 2' ((entries))
1st to go sophie regnorey riding a calm heart 2nd to go ella blakemen riding elegance de tranquilite
[/color] ((the course))jumping - to start with, the contestants will just do the first phase. once the first phase is complete, the two riders with the least faults will proceed to the second phase. the first phase is jumping, you must complete the course. when you enter at a, turn left travel down the long side to meet the first jump, a 1foot 6 gate. turn right to the next jump, a 2 foot high oxer. be careful to not knock the back rail. as you turn right again, you get to the double where the highest fence is 1 foot 9. continue in a straight line to the track, then turn right at a, and head towards the 2 foot brush fence. the fillers might be scary for your horse, so tackle with confidence. the next jump is a vertical standing at approximately 1 foot 6. the last jump is another oxer also standing at 2 foot. however the added fillers might make your horse less sure. showing in hand - for the second phase, you will show your horse in front of the judges. walk past the judges and halt in front of them, to start the test. trot forward, twice around the ring. then walk your horse at f, and past the judges, before trotting your horse at k and walking at h. then trot at m and slow to walk at b. this shows your accurate control of the horse when stopping him. then halt at c, and walk round to k and halt. then strike off in trot at k, down the diagonal line to m. walk to a, before turning up the centre line and halting at x, then leaving the arena. Sophie Regnorary
I had finished tacking up, grooming, touching up and was already dressed aswell. I tended to be seriously organised especially when it came with something to do with the horses and competing. I had arrived really early today and wanted to be ready early aswell. I had to have everything perfect. I went inside to double check myself and everything was ok. I went outside again and collected Heart smiling. "Lets do this girl!" I whispered into her ear, Heart nickered friendly back to me and pawed her hoof as to say lets go, I laughed slightly then patted her and walked down to the warm up ring. I mounted Heart there and walked her into the ring very proud of her, I walked her around and then trotted a couple of laps and changed the rein across the school from f to H and changed my diagonal on the way across being very aware of where other people where. The ring wasn't to busy because it was quite early but now getting closer to my first show. I trotted round the ring a couple of times then did some circles in trot then went to canter. I went round the ring and then circled and changed the diagonal doing a perfect flying change and then going on the other rein doing the same thing. I then brought Heart back to a trot then asked for another canter and popped over the warm up jumps a couple of times. It was close to my class now so I walked Star over to the ring and waited nervously with the other competitors.

Sophie
The first phase - Jumping
I patted Ruby waiting on her back. As I heard my name called I smiled, It was strange I was nervously at all really. I was more excited to do it and have some fun doing it. But I guessed it was because I had done so many shows before. I entered the ring happily knowing that the jumping was coming first, I was very prepeared. I knew I was doing jumping and had to get throught for the second phase.
I picked up a trot and went round and as I heard the bell ring I headed for the start gate, Before I knew it I was at the first jump, the gate. It didn't bother me really and I knew Ruby wasn't scared of any of the jumps, that was a very good thing. I approached the jump square and bounced over it cleanly with much ease for both me and Ruby. Swinging right neatly for the next jumping smiling to myslef. This jump was a little more challenging a 2 foot oxer but I knew Ruby could cope so I kept chilled and went witht the flow still very focused but relaxed about it. I approached the jump and had a very good take off and cleared the jump neatly and nicely. For Ruby it was great for her coming out here for this, she really enjoyed it.
I prepeared for the next jump. I had quite A sharp right but I did it neatly and Ruby had no problem. I slightly pushed her forward getting her striding out and more impultion. I got to the double and flew over the first and stried out to make 2 strides in between rather than 3 and flew over the 2nd jump. I was very pleased with Ruby and smiled to myslef. I continued straight and then turned when I knew I should at A.
I got to the brush fence and flew over it nicely, the fillers Ruby had no trouble with but i'd just squeezed her forward slightly just incase it went wrong. I knew I had very few jumps left and headed for the vertical at 1 foot 6. with much confidence. Ruby flew over it and was getting a little excited but she was under my control nicely. I had one last jump left the oxer standing at 2 foot. I was a little unsure but Ruby had filled me with confidence. As we got to it a squeezed her forward and Ruby judged the take off well with my help and flew over the jump perfectly. I had gone clear. I punched the air with pleasure and then patted Ruby so happily. I had done it, now just to get through to the next round, all I could do was wait and watch the other competitors. I slowed Ruby down to a walk and let her go on a long reign walking out of the ring, I patted and praised her all the way back to the box.
