Breanna stood at the edge of the dressage ring and sighed. It had been ages since she'd ridden a dressage test. A few years ago, she'd loved nothing more than going along to shows and watching the dressage riders for hours. The complicated movements their horses made were like magic to her. She'd trained for dressage almost nonstop, teaching the horses at her barn to move with more fluidity and grace than she'd thought possible. She'd taught herself to be strict and disciplined too. But never once had she competed. She'd longed to, but she could never bring herself to do it. Watching dressage was one thing. Riding it in private at her barn was another. But riding in a ring, being watched by judges, fellow competitors and spectators? That was in entirely a different world. No way could she do it. She sighed again and sat at the edge of the ring. In her mind's eye she was doing half-passes and lead changes atop a gorgeous horse. She hugged her knees up to her chest and closed her eyes, ignoring the tear that trickled silently down her cheek.

Kesha smiled as the breeze blew threw her hair as she cantered down the trail on her beloved lesion horse Sasha. The buckskin mare shined like gold as she went down the trail. When she got to the stable yard of Willow springs she pulled her horse down to a trot. She was here today to visit with her sister Lucy and show her, her new lesion horse and all that she had learned with her. She pulled Sasha down to a walk, she decided to have a look around the stable grounds and dismounted, she grabbed the reins and started walking around a little bit. "Come on girl let's check this place out a little" she said with a smile tugging on the reins. She looked over all the arenas. "It sure is peaceful here. Not Whispering Wolves." She said with a smile. She loved all the talk and activeness of her stable, she also loved the look of her barn, the old stone with vines growing up the sides made it look and feel old when it wasn't. She walked to the Dressage arena. She saw some one sitting on the ground, so she walked over to her, "hey I'm Kesha" she said with a smile.

Bree looked up, startled. She automatically flipped her hair forwards, so it came down in front of her face and hid her large birthmark. She stared at the ground, swallowing rapidly. Her throat and mouth had gone dry, and she licked her lips nervously. After a couple of moments, her eyes flicked to the girl who'd talked to her, and then back to the ground. "Bree," she said nervously. Her face went a deep red, and she turned her head to hide it. She hardly ever spoke to people, and when she did she rarely said more than a few words. Her hands clenched in the grass around her, ripping up shreds and dropping them back to the ground.

Kesha flipped her hair back and tilted her head to the side. She watched the girl flip her forward, she thought for a moment and then sat on the ground, as soon as she dropped to the ground Sasha dropped her head down and blew in Kesha's face. "This is Sasha, well her full name is really hard to say so I call her Sasha for short. Anyway her full name means something with free and wild." Kesha said almost in one breath. She tucked her hair behind her ears, showing the large scar on her cheek, the one she got when her father gave her by hitting her with a broken beer bottle, she shook off the shivers running down her back at the memory.

Bree almost smiled when she saw the gorgeous horse. She hadn't realised at first that the girl who called herself Kesha had one. Bree looked at Sasha and sighed. She missed the days of riding her old lesson horse, George. "She's pretty," Bree said shyly. Her eyes lingered on Kesha's scar for a second, before she looked away. She fiddled with the hem of her shirt, plucking nervously at a loose thread until it broke off. She wrapped it around her fingers, twisting it so it weaved through every finger of her left hand. She didn't know what to say to Kesha. She stared across the dressage ring again and wished she could be riding rather than talking. She got so nervous around people, and horses calmed her down fully. She tilted her head a tiny bit, watching the horse and girl through the corner of her eye. She'd give anything to switch places with Kesha. To be able to talk to anyone with confidence. And to have her own gorgeous horse.

Kesha smiled and stroked the buckskin mares face. "Thanks, I wish I could buy her from my stable but she's not for sale witch suck" Kesha said with a sigh. She wanted her own horse so bad but she didn't have enough money to buy her own horse and she didn't want to give up riding Sasha. She looked over at Bree. "So do you own your own horse?" She asked with a nice smile. She noticed how shy they girl was, she had been that way once, she was that way until the day she got out of her fathers house. The entire time she ahd lived him she never spoke or let herself out, she was always waiting to be beat by her father and the less she said the less chance there was of him hitting her. "I used to not like talking to people either" she said in a nice voice. "But I'm sure I never talked for intirley different reason then you" she said with a tight smile.

The corner of Bree's mouth twitched upwards in a tiny smile. She shook her head. Even if her parents had wanted her to buy a horse, they would never have been able to afford it. "No," she said quietly. She blushed when Kesha picked up straight away that she was shy. Bree had been bullied all the way through school, until she couldn't take it anymore and had started homeschooling. Bree made a nonchalant "mm" noise in the back of her throat. She couldn't think of anything to say. She'd never had friends; she'd never even met anyone nice before. She tried to smile at Kesha but she couldn't. The sharp sting of tears pricked at Bree's eyes, but she knew the feeling all too well and bit down on her tongue to stop them from falling. She swallowed the hard lump rising in her throat, and focused instead on the gorgeous mare.

Kesha smiled and nodded. "It sucks not having your horse" she said with a sigh. She smiled when she noticed Bree looking at Sasha. "Would you like to ride her? Shes really sweet and I'm sure you've rode more then me" she said with a smile. "I don't know if you've ever riddin' western though" she said tilting her head to the side. "Sasha's a western girl, but she loves everyone." She said with a laugh.

Bree inclined her head a fraction. She longed for her own horse, and obviously Kesha did too. Her eyes snapped wide open in astonishment when she was offered to ride Sasha. "Really!!?" she exclaimed, before she could stop herself. A smile lit up her whole face, and she beamed at the gorgeous buckskin mare. She'd never ridden western before, but she didn't care. She hadn't been on a horse for ages, and she felt sure that even if she only rode for five minutes she would be able to forget all her fears and problems, at least for a little while. "I'd love to," she said quietly, smiling at Kesha.
(haha yeah im having one of those days too xP )

Kesha laughed slightly at Bree's excitment. She pulled herself to her feet and adjusting the stirrups to where they looked like they should be for Bree. She stepped back a hair, she smiled "saddles ready, just keep some slight tension on the bit cause she's used to barrel racing so she can some times try to go to fast. But a little pit of pressure on the bit keeps her calm enough." She said with a smile and a nod. Kesha smiled, she liked making people smile even if it really was her horse it still made her happy. "Well go ahead" She said with her wide brimming smile.

Bree smiled at Kesha, and stood up. She fiddled nervously with the hem of her shirt while Kesha adjusted her stirrups. She nodded at what Keshae said, and then took the reins. "Ok," she said with a small smile. She put her foot into the stirrup and pulled herself into Sasha's saddle. The stirrups were a perfect length. Bree took a quiet moment to reach forward and stroke Sasha's golden neck. "Hey, girl," she said. She felt so much at home on the back of a horse. She straightened her back and gave the mare a gentle squeeze with her legs, making her walk forward. She walked once each way around the ring, making sure to keep her back straight, her heels down and her toes pointed inward. Even on a western horse, Bree wanted to keep her position perfect. She was a dressage rider, after all. She imagined she was riding a test. Giving the horse another small squeeze, she urged her into a trot, but instead of the usual gait that Bree was accustomed to, the mare cruised along leisurely. Bree smiled, knowing that this was a jog. She'd now officially ridden a western horse, with western paces. As she rode past Kesha, a smile lit her face. "Thank you," she beamed.

Kesha smiled when Bree spoke to Sasha. When Bree mounted Sasha nickered. "She likes you" she said with a smile. Kesha smiled her wide grin as she watched Bree ride Sasha. Today Sasha seemed to to know she wasn't suposted to go fast cause she behaved rather well for her. She smiled "welcome" she said as they rode past her.

Bree blushed when Kesha said the mare liked her. She automatically tangled her finger's in Sasha's mane and rubbed the mare's neck. Bree turned her attention back to Sasha once they had gone past Kesha. She was really grateful to Kesha for letting her ride the beautiful mare. She sat to Sasha's trot for a few paces, then turned her across the diagonal of the dressage ring, and back the other way. She sat deep in the saddle and shifted her outside leg back slightly, giving the mare a small canter aid. Sasha cruised into a canter (except, Bree remembered, technically it was a lope) and Bree smiled. She only rode the mare back around to where Kesha was standing, then pulled her back to a jog, and then a walk. She lapped the ring once in each direction to cool off Sasha, and then she dismounted next to Kesha and handed the reins back to her. She flung her arms around the mare's neck for a second, breathing in her rich, horsey smell, and then she backed away. She looked at the floor and blinked back tears for a moment, and then she looked up at Kesha. "Thanks," she said to her again. This was the most words she'd ever said to one person in a day, and she was starting to think that maybe she was possibly beginning to make her very first friend.

Kesha smiled watching Bree take Sasha around. She was very good and elagent looking rider, Kesha thought. She deffently held herself better then Kesha did, had a habit of slouching while riding, not on purpose she was just a new rider and was working on it. Kesha took the reins and patted Sasha's smooth neck. "Yup no problem" she said with a smile. "Was that the first time you have ever riddin' western?" She asked, running her fingers threw Sasha's mane.

Shera had been going to do some jumping but saw a girl riding and stopped her stallion in front of the ring to watch. Her eyes set on the two girls while she sat atop her tall Hanovarian.

Bree smiled at Kesha and nodded. "Yeah..." she said shyly. She stared at the ground for a moment, and when she looked up again she noticed a girl sitting on a horse, watching them. Bree's gaze hit the floor again. She was just beginning to get used to Kesha's presence, and she wasn't sure if she'd be able to hold a conversation with someone else too. She really needed to spend more time with people. Her social skills were nonexistant. Bree knew she had to learn to trust people again sooner or later, but she wasn't sure if she'd be able to. Her eyes slid cautiously to the girl again, and she quickly took in all the details she could. The girl was pretty; she looked a few years older than Bree. Her horse was gorgeous. From the quick glance Bree gave it, it looked to be about 16 hands. Bree looked to Kesha, wondering if she'd noticed the new girl too.

Kesha smiled a little impressed with how well Bree rode. "Hmm... You were good" she said with a bright smile. She ran her fingers threw Sasha's mane and patted her lovingly. She smiled when she saw the new girl watching them. "Hey" she said happily. "Wow hes gorgouse..." She said looking at the girls horse. She fake slapped her forehead and laughed, "I'm Kesha by the way and this is Sasha" she said happily patting the mare on the neck. Sasha whipped her head and nickered softly, mostly to Kesha and Bree then to the new horse. She couldn't help but notice the way Bree just stared at the ground. 'Man this girl is shy' she thought to herself with a slight smirk. She chuckled to herself remembering all the times she had refused to talk to anyone but her sister, she sure was different now, half the time you couldn't shut her up.

Smiling she looked down at her Hano then back to the girls, "Thanks. I'm Shera, nice to meet you."

Bree stared at the ground while Kesha introduced herself and Sasha. She kept sneaking looks at the girl's horse, too shy to look at the actual girl herself. She finally forced herself to look up. She couldn't be scared of making friends forever, right? These were horsey people; they had the same way of thinking as her. Obviously if she was going to make friends, these would be the kind of people she would get along with. Cautiously, Bree looked up at Shera and tried to smile. "I'm Bree," she said softly. She stabbed the palm of her hand with her fingernails to force herself from looking away again. "He's really pretty," she said, gesturing towards Shera's horse with a nod of her head. Then she clamped her teeth down on her tongue to stop herself from going red. Today, she'd spoken more to people than she had for years. It was kind of scaring her a bit. Her eyes automatically sought the ground, and she busied herself with counting individual baldes of grass.
