Megan walked into the jumping ring, leading her horse next to her. The large gelding snorted at the sight of the jumps lined up all over the ring. "Shh, boy, shh," Megan whispered soothingly, patting Flynn on the muzzle. She led Flynn around the ring past every single jump, to make sure that he wouldn't spook at the jumps.
Checking his girth before mounting, Megan noticed that Flynn must have puffed out, because the girth was very loose. Megan raised her eyebrows at the gelding, who merely snorted, spraying Megan's blue sweatshirt with all kinds of things.
"Gee, thanks, Flynn," Megan said lightly, playfully slapping his gleaming chestnut neck.
She quickly fixed his girth, then mounted. Megan clucked to him to walk forward, which her horse obliged to immediately. After a few minutes of walking, she pushed Flynn into a trot, and later a slow canter.
Still going at the slow canter, Megan directed Flynn toward the first jump, a three and a quarter oxer. She quickened Flynn's pace as they approached the jump. Megan could feel collecting his forelegs as he prepared to jump. She shortened the reins, and held her breath.
Flynn leaped into the air. It was like flying, soaring over that jump. Flynn landed softly on the sand covered ring without a single sound. Megan slowed him down to let him breathe a little and gave him a pat on the neck for clearing the jump.
Megan decided to go for an easier jump; she turned Flynn toward a simple three foot jump. While turning Flynn to the inside of the ring, Megan saw a girl leading her horse in their direction, out of the corner of her eye.

Sara stopped when she saw another girl already riding in the jumping ring. She felt a flicker of disappointment; she'd really wanted to work on Desert's jumping today. "Woo, Desert," she said to her gelding. He pulled at the end of the reins, glaring in the direction of the other horse. Sara led him to the edge of the ring, rolling her eyes at him. "Hi, I'm Sara," she introduced herself to the girl riding. "Your horse took that jump awesomely," she smiled. "I wish Desert could jump like that," she added with a laugh. Placing a hand on her thoroughbred's neck to stop him pacing so much, she directed her attention back to the girl. "Would it be ok if I join you?" she asked. She hoped the girl wouldn't object to having someone else in the ring with her.

Megan slowed Flynn down and stopped him, looking at the girl and her horse with a smile. "Yeah, you can jump too, I don't mind," she said, patting Flynn's slightly sweaty neck. "I'm Megan, this is Flynn. He's a Morab-Thoroughbred, but he also has a bit of Hanoverian mixed in him; that's why he's so good at jumping. What kind of horse is your's?"

Molly mounted beside the new girl, "Ready?" When Megan was done, she pointed Moonview at the oxer. They soared over it and then took a 3'6" verticle. Slowing to a walk, she went over to the two girls, "Moonview Monopoly is a Morgan."

Matt walked down to the jumping ring to watch the other riders jump. He stopped outside the ring and listened to them say what their horse were. He nodded to Molly. "Hi, Molly." He said and then looked to her horse. "Thought her name was Molly too?" He said. He looked to Megan. "Hi, I'm Matt." He said. He looked over at Sara and smiled. "Hey Sara." He said with a smile. "Hi Dez." He said to Sara's horse.

"Oh yeah, I've been wondering what her breed was," Megan said, smiling. "I though she might be a Morgan, but I wasn't sure."

Cassie walked out of the stable with Dante, who, as usual, was prancing around. She headed towards the jumping ring. She groaned when she saw about 3 or 4 people and their horses in the ring. She'd really wanted to jump Dante, she hadn't jumped him since they'd gotten there. She walked up to the fence and smiled at the people.

Megan smiled at Cassie, but remembered the thing about Mac and her smile faltered slightly.

Cassie watched as Megan smiled at her, then stopped smiling. Cassie thought back to their conversation about Mac. She plastered a smile on her face. She didn't dislike Megan, and hadn't got a problem with her. She just... hated competition. Especially guy competition. She sighed and gathered Dante's reins in her hand. She s'posed she'd have to go do something else.

"Yeah, it is. Her show name is Moonview Monopoly and her barn name is Molly." She sent him a smile then looked at the girls. There seemed to be a bit of competition going on between them.

Cassie turned towards Megan. "I was gonna go, there's a lot of people... I s'pose..." she rubbed a hand down Dante's neck, leaning against him.

Molly nodded, "Yep!" Turning, she frowned, "Oh..." Molly had been hoping to get to know her better but she would definently have more chances.

Cassie looked at Molly, her head cocked to the side. "...Unless... you don't mind an extra person?" she smield at Molly and the others.

Sara laughed at everyone. She'd been about to answer Megan's question when everyone else arrived. "Well, Desert's a Thoroughbred," she said. She smiled at Matt when he joined them. "Hey," she said, laughing as Desert bobbed his head when he heard his name. She watched Megan and Cassie from the sidelines, things seemed a little tense between them. She half shrugged at Molly and laughed. "Nope, keep the jumps high so Desert actually has to work!" she laughed.

Cassie nodded. "They're fine. Could we maybe put a smaller one up so I can take Dante over it before the bigger ones?" she looked at Molly, gesturing to her black Andalusian stallion. She led him into the ring, closing the gate behind her. She asked Dante to stand. The stallion was already pawing the ground and tossibg his head, looking at the horses in the ring. She put her foot into the stirrup and swung herself up on to the 16 hh horse. When she was on Dante skittered to the side. Cassie laughed and rolled her eyes. "Silly boy." she said, patting him.

Molly nodded, "What height?" Swinging off of Moonview Monopoly, she went to stand by the first jump on the right.

"Ummm... about 2'6? If that's okay?" she smiled at Molly. "Your horse is stunning." she said, looking at Molly's horse. "What breed is he? Or she?" she asked.

Molly set up a 2'6 jump and mounted again from the block. "She is a Parking Morgan. Yours?" She smiled at the compliment, "Thank you!"

Megan watched Sara's horse prance around. "Thoroughbred, huh? He looks good," she said, smiling at her.

"Dante's an Andalusian." she grinned, patting her stunning horse's black neck. She asked him to walk on, giving him a long rein and letting him stretch out. He kept looking at the other horses in the ring, nickering to them softly.

Sara smiled and nodded. "Yep, Desert's a thoroughbred," she said, patting her horse on the neck. "Thanks," she said. She always felt proud when people complimented Desert. "He's an ex racer," she said. "But you'd never be able to tell...He's so lazy," she laughed. She pulled down her stirrups and rechecked the girth, tightening it an extra hole. "Let's do this," she smiled, pulling herself into the saddle. She looked around at everyone else, and rolled her eyes when Desert pinned his ears at the other horses. "He's all talk and no action," she laughed, fondling her gelding's mane.

Cassie began to trot Dante around the ring. Her big horse spooked at something every now and then, skittish as he was. When he'd trotted enough, she asked him for canter. As they cantered smoothly around the ring, she asked him to go on the bit. She smiled to herself. She knew he must look stunning.

Molly picked up her canter and sped past Dante. Moonview Monopoly held her head high in the air with confidence.

Sara smiled and told Desert to walk on. After he'd done a few laps of walk and trot around the ring in each direction, Sara pushed him into a canter. Desert struck out into his lazy canter, barely moving at all. Sara used her hips to push him forward, and slowly he picked up his speed until he was going at a nice pace. "Good boy," Sara praised him, rewarding him by removing some of the pressure from her legs. Sara gazed at Molly and Cassie's horses. They both looked wonderful in the canter. Pushing her heels down and straightening her back, Sara tried to look as confident and proud as the others did on their horses. She smiled down at Desert; she knew that he wasn't the prettiest looking horse, but he was absolutely perfect in her eyes.

Cassie watched, still cantering, as the other girls cantered along on their horses. They all looked great. When she'd cantered on both reins, she turned Dante towards the 2'6 jump and he soured over it, trying to race off as they landed. SHe steadied him and jumped it again, from the other direction.

Molly smiled at Cassie, "Nice!" Speaking louder so that Sara could here, she added, "You too Sara!" Aiming Moonview Monopoly at the jump that Cassie took, they flew over it and landed in a very fast canter. Pulling back, she calmed her down and jumped another 2'6 jump.

"Nice Cassie!" Sara grinned. She smiled at Molly. "Thanks," she said, giving Desert another pat. "Good job Molly!" She called to her friend. Once Molly had taken the jumps, Sara aimed Desert towards them, keeping him moving forward. She moved up into her two point position as Desert flew over the jump, landing great and pulling him around again. She circled him once before taking the jump, and he launched over it and snorted as he landed. Sara pulled him back to trot and smiled. "Good boy!" she praised him.
