Cassie sat on the sofa, snuggled up in a warm grey oversized hoodie, ipod on. She had one earphone in, and, as there was no one in the lounge with her, she was singing along to Taylor Swift's song Breathe. People had told Cassie that she had a great voice, and she knew she wasn't that bad, but she just likes singing 'cos it made her happy.

Sara was walking past the lounge when she heard a pretty voice floating out. She recognised the song and smiled, humming along. She hadn't actually been planning on going in, but she wanted to see who was singing. She waited outside the door for just a little bit longer, listening to the familiar lyrics. It was one of her favourite songs; she used to sing it to Desert all the time. Opening the door quietly, Sara walked in and was surprised to see Cassie sitting on the sofa singing along to her iPod. Sara's quirky nature overtook her; she couldn't resist bursting into song. She crept into the lounge and then dropped to her knees in front of the sofa, belting out the lyrics in a dreadful squealing voice.
"I can't Breeeeaaaathe without you, but I haaaaave toooo!" she grinned in front of Cassie.
Daniel was on his way from his room to go and visit Tag, when he stopped dead in his tracks. He looked towards the lounge and cautiously walked in. He saw Sara and another girl in there and rolled his eyes. "Oh, it's just you singing," he said to Sara. "I thought someone was strangling one of the barn cats."
Before he'd come to Starry Skys, Daniel would never have even talked to a girl before, but now he was comfortable enough around people and this place to even joke around with them. He walked over to an armchair and plonked himself down, figuring he could go and see his filly later.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Cassie yelled, when Sara started singing. She'd scared the life out of her! Cassie pulled her earphones out and swatted Sara playfully on the arm. "I was in the ZONE there!" Cassie looked up, laughing, as a boy came in and threw himself down on an armchair. She smiled at him. "Hey, I'm Cassie."

Sara grinned and started laughing. Her singing had the desired effect. "Works just as well as a BOO, I've found," she laughed. She poked her tongue out when Cassie playfully hit her, then stood up and dropped down next to her friend. She rolled her eyes at Daniel's comment. "Don't you have places to be?" she teased him. "You know, stuff to do like be all broody and antisocial?" She winked at him so he knew she was only kidding. She turned to Cassie and complimented her singing. "Your voice is awesome by the way," she said to her with a smile.
Daniel shrugged when Sara spoke to him. He'd made a few friends while he was here, and she was one of his good ones. He smiled at the girl on the sofa. "Hey, I'm Daniel," he introduced himself. "I think I've seen you around before, don't you have a big black horse?" He still felt like an idiot when he was talking about horses. His people skills might have improved, but he'd still never ridden.

"Thanks, Sara. My voice is okay, I spose." she grinned at her friend, then turned to Daniel. "Nice to meet you. And yes, I do, that's my Andalusian stallion, Dante. Do you have a horse? Or ride?" she smiled sweetly at him.

Sara laughed. "Okay? Only okay?!" she teased. "No but really, it's awesome." She smiled at Cassie, and then laughed when she told Daniel the breed of her horse. "Daniel doesn't even know the breed of his own horse, much less what an Andalusian is," she grinned.
Daniel glared at Sara. "I do too!" he replied indignantly. Turning to Cassie, he answered her question. "I have a Quarter Horse" at this he stared pointedly at Sara "filly called Tagalong. But no, I don't ride," he said. "I found Tag when she was just a newborn, and she followed me. I've had her for two and a bit years now," he said. "I'm starting to train her now actually," he said with a smile.

Sara laughed. "Yeah, I'm good it it aren't I?" she said with a laugh. "I'm only kidding though...Kinda...He's clueless about horses really." Sara laughed as Cassie hit her on the arm. "And you say I'm mean!" she joked.
Daniel smiled. "Yeah, she is cute," he said. He looked down at the ground. "Well...We haven't exactly started yet," he admitted. "But we will really soon! I needa buy stuff for her...She doesn't even have a halter yet," he said.

"Well, everyone starts somewhere." she smiled at Daniel and poked her tongue out at Sara. Cassie frowned. "How come you haven't started? And, I heard the tack shop is great around here. I haven't actually been yet, though?"

Daniel smiled. "Yeah. I have a friend helping me...I don't really know much about horses," he said. "I only arrived here about a month ago, and I've been busy trying to earn my keep here." He didn't want to go into the details about his past, but he'd become a lot more accustomed to talking about his life to people since being here. "Yeah, I need some more money before I go out and buy stuff," he said. So far he had enough to keep him going for now, but he really needed to save.
Sara laughed when Cassie poked her tongue out. Then she frowned as Daniel talked. It made her sad whenever he mentioned his life before coming to Starry Skys. He'd had a really tough life. She smiled sympathetically at him, and for once bit her tongue, holding back any snide comments. "Yeah, the tack shop's really good," she said. "We should all go on the weekend or something. It's about time I get Desert something nice," she said. She actually needed to buy him a show bridle; she wanted to compete him a lot more soon.

Cassie smiled sympatheticly at Daniel. "Yeah, we should! I haven't been horsey shopping in like two weeks, and it's too long!" she smiled at Sara, then looked over at Daniel. He was quite cute, really.

Sara laughed. "Yeah, it's a deal then," she said. She looked over at Daniel. "You're coming too, whether you like it or not," she said. Sara thought of him almost as a brother, and she was going to make him leave the stable to do something fun. She saw Cassie looking at daniel and winked at her. She knew Daniel had been spending a lot of time with Molly lately, but she didn't say anything to avoid hurting anyone's feelings.
Daniel rolled his eyes and sighed. "Great. Stuck shopping," he said. He smiled though. He wanted to at least buy Tag a proper halter; they couldn't be that expensive, could they? He'd seen some of the horses around the barn with flashy halters on, and Tag went around with pieces of rope tied around her face. It wasn't fair for his gorgeous filly.

Sara smiled. "Okay then, if you insist," she laughed. She stood up to go get a soda out of the fridge. "Want one?" she asked both of them. She popped the lid on hers and took a big gulp. "So goooood!" she sighed happily. She stood by the fridge, waiting to see if her friends wanted a drink too.
Daniel nodded. "Okay then," he said to Cassie. He nodded to Sara. "Yup!" he said, catching the can as she threw it at him. He glared at her. "Now it's gonna be all fizzed up!" he complained.

Molly rinsed her rubber boots before entering the lounge. "Hey!" She said when she saw the three. Before she said anything else, she noticed how Cassie was looking at Daniel. Walking over, she went over to Daniel, "What's up?"

Sara laughed. "Your car won't be so nice after we're in it," she said. She laughed and tossed a can to her friend. She smiled as Molly walked in too, deciding not to comment on the glance Molly gave Cassie. "Hey Molly!" she said with a smile. "Want a soda while I'm up?"
Daniel laughed. "I don't even know how to drive!" he said. It was kind of embarrassing, but he hadn't had a home during the years that every other normal kid was learning to drive. He shrugged it off, then turned bright red as Molly walked in. Hiding his face until his blush had subsided, he smiled at her. "Hey," he said lamely. "Not much..." he told her. "Just talking about going tack shopping on the weekend." He bit his tongue before he rambled off about nothing in front of her. "What have you been up to?" he asked.

"Hey, Molly." said Cassie. She hadn't meant anything by looking at Daniel, and she had no idea if he was taken. She shrugged, whatever. "Well, S, you better treat my car good! It's my baby!" she smiled at her friend.

Molly blushed for making Daniel blush (haha). "That's cool. Stuff for Tag? I could help if you would like." She didn't mean to invite herself but she was excited about working with Tag. She also wanted to keep an eye on Cassie just in case.

Sara laughed, although there wasn't really a reason for it. She poked her tongue out at Cassie. "Your car's your baby? I'm telling Dante!" she teased. She looked at Molly and smiled. It would be more fun to have more people...At least if Molly came along Sara wouldn't be stuck with Daniel's mopiness.
Daniel chuckled at the banter exchanged between Cassie and Sara, then smiled at Molly. "Yeah..She doesn't really have anything," he said, embarrassed. He smiled at the idea. "That would be awesome! I don't really know what things she'll need," he said. Then he looked at Cassie. "That is, if it's okay with you? Since you're driving and all..." he trailed off awkwardly. He hated asking people for things, especially if he'd just met them. Still, Cassie seemed nice, and she didn't seem like she would say no.

Sara laughed. "Yeah, I bet he would!" she giggled. She grinned at Molly and Daniel, then winked at Dan when she caught his eye. She laughed to herself, enjoying tormenting her friends. Daniel smiled at Cassie. "Awesome!" he said, turning to Molly with a huge smile. He saw Sara wink at him, and stuck out his tongue, then turned his face so she wouldn't see the blush creeping over him again. God, he had to learn how to control that! "So, when are we gonna go?" he asked, trying to change the unspoken subject. (ohmygod. that IS a sexy car! Me has an Audi too  ) |

Sara laughed. "Well, I guess it's settled then. Onwards!" she declared, standing up and stretching. She poked her tongue out at Cassie and then held a hand out to her friend to lift her off the sofa.
Daniel smiled and stood up too. He actually couldn't wait to get Tag some new stuff. He smiled at Molly and then looked away when he noticed her looking at him. "Well, um...Shall we go then?" he said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck and looking around at everyone else.

Sara grinned. "Hi! I'm Sara," she said. She gave a friendly smile to the new girl.
Daniel looked up and gave a small smile to the girl who walked in. "Hey, I'm Daniel," he said, a little awkwardly. Even after becoming more comfortable around everyone here, he still found it hard making friends with new people sometimes.
