((SHOW JUMPING INTERMEDIATE)) highest jump at 3' ((entries))
1st to go kayla lavgine riding one jagged heart 2nd to go natasha schmidt riding lucky boy 3rd to go penelope winters riding right to the finish
[/color] ((the course)) the first jump is a 2 foot 6 fan. then if you turn right towards the 3 foot wall. the next jump is a combination. the first part of this is a 2 foot 6 spread, and the second part a 3 foot vertical. the fourth jump is a water jump, which stands at 2 foot 9. if you then turn along the straight, there is the fifth jump, a 3 foot triple bar, before the penultimate jump, a 2 foot 9 bounce, on a tight corner. the last jump, is a 3 foot joker, which is very challenging, and hard to find in courses. the judging may be hard for this jump, so slow over it to judge properly.

Kayla moved around the large brindled gelding with a smile on her face, she had just finished his usual groundwork before saddling and bridling. She finished with her cinch and asked Jagger to drop his head so that she could slip her shiny black bridle onto his head, he sighed and let her finish adjusting it and strapping it up. She smiled and stepped back to look over him and smiled he looked perfect. His dark brown and white coat shined with the uniqueness that was him, his hooves shiny as ever, his mane clipped brushed and braided, his tail was also braided and looking nice. She wiped her hands on a cloth and went to change before heading to the warm up area. She smiled to herself as she walked and thought of how much she wished Jagger was a little more ready for this, he had done well in beginner eventing classes she had heard and hoped she had done a good job with improving his jumping. Kayla smiled as she finished fixing her riding boots, she felt good today, ready to just have fun, she didn't care what place she got as long as her and Jagger both did their best today, stood up and pulled back her slightly wavy long hair, she smiled as she looked in a mirror fixing her bun, she smiled at the memory of saying she would never wear her hair like this. She chuckled to herself as she slipped on her helmet another thing she said she hated wearing. As she walked back down the hall she smiled looking at her big brindled thoroughbred, his head was up, his ears almost touching at the points, his eyes big and nostrils flaring. Kayla smiled and patted his neck, “Ya ready ol' man?” She said with a big grin before walking him out to the warm up ring. As she walked she had to smile as the big gelding slightly pranced next to her as they walked and she had to say, “Okay boy this ain't the race track so slow your butt down.”
As she reached the arena for warm up she quickly went to a mounting block and quickly and lightly pulled herself into the saddle and then waited a moment making sure the hyper thoroughbred beneath her was going to do his job and wait for her to say go, he snorted and whipped his head a little but didn't take a step. Kayla smiled and clucked her tongue and he went into a fast walk, she smiled and kept him at that for awhile before asking him to trot. She went with him around the arena, she kept reminding herself to breath and not hold her breath. "I breath in, I breath out." She said and kept repeating it over and over in her head, after awhile at the trot she asked for a canter. She smiled more letting herself just go along with the gelding, to her this moment wasn't just a warm up session. No it was a way to make him relax. She smiled and reached back to pat him on the butt and then rubbed his neck, she felt him sigh and even his stride, she patted his neck and asked for a slow gallop and then a trot in a split second, he did what she asked and she smiled. He had come a long way since she bought him but the road wasn't over with him yet but it was getting smoother as they went along. After another lap at the trot she asked for a canter again and turned him to the warm up jumps, he popped over them and went around again at a canter before she slowed him down and patted his neck. "That's a good boy." She looked between his ears and let him trot and canter around a bit just enjoying the ride and the feel of feeling the power of his rippling muscles carry her around. Jagger's brindle coat looked as if someone had dripped some sort of sugar over his dark body, to Kayla he looked like a cinnamon roll and she had to smile at the thought. He was such a beautiful horse and his movement made her feel free and happy, she couldn't wait to start jumping with him, today was going to be great. Her first show since she moved here and the first time she was going to be showing Jagger.
She walked Jagger a few more laps waiting for her number to be called and wondered about some of the other people here today. Were they as nervous? She knew a few that wouldn't be, some were just so ready for this show but her main worry was what about Marya? How would he do later today was he getting to old for this kinda stuff? She just shook her head and focused on Jagger today she needed him and he needed her to guide him over the course. At her clucked he started to trot again and then she halted him waiting for the announcer to call her to the arena. Jagger raised his head and looked around eager to move again, eager to jump, eager to do what ever his rider asked of him, she smiled and rubbed his butt again and then rubbed his flanks with both hands, he sighed and lowered his head. She smiled and sat back up and started to rub his shoulders and neck, she loved being able just sit on her horses without worry and plus all this moving of her hands were taking her mind off all the worry she was getting her in gut. She smiled and patted his neck, “Just cause I'm nervous doesn't mean you should be.” She said with a small chuckle to her horse when he huffed and bobbed his head to her. She looked down at her watch and said. “Almost our turn boy. Think we're ready?” Jagger whinnied, snorted and bobbed his head and she smiled. “Yeah I do too.”

Kayla smiled and took a deep breath as she sat back in her saddle asking Jagger for his big stride canter, she went around the arena to line up with the first jump wasn't that hard for the huge gelding to pop over and continue around the course. She took a deep breath and tried to steady her nerves about riding Jagger in a show for the first time, he snorted and tried to pulled the reins out of her hands and pick up more speed, she cursed in her head as she tried to rein him enough for the next jump. Right before the wall he collected himself and jumped over it clean. She moved him to the next set of jumps but lost some of his reins in the process and he picked up to much speed and knocked a rail on the first in the combination, and barely made it over the vertical clean. He snorted and whipped his head getting a little excited about jumping and tried to pick more speed, she sat deep in her seat and reined him more to get him over the water jump without much fuss or trouble and in fact she was very happy with that jump, the most collected he'd been all day. She kept him in a even slow gallop for the next jumps, but he clipped the top rail on the triple bar and knocked it off, she shrugged it off keeping her mind on Jagger and the jumps ahead, he whipped his head again she pulled him back enough to calm him but keep up enough speed for the course at hand. She clucked and let him get a more even pace around and began to ready herself for the tight corner, she pulled him to the corner and was happy with his clearing of the jump with only a minor slip. After she was over the jump and heading for the last he threw his head up and bucked once, she quickly corrected him and sent him over the last jump and since he was started to get to excited he over jumped it but cleared. Kayla reined him and patted his neck, "Good job Jagger." She smiled proud that neither of them had taken a fall or to many knock downs more then anything it had been fun. But plenty of room for improvement, she chuckled when he whipped his head and hugged his neck after she was out of the arena.
