Cassie walked down to the pastures, a brand new pink halter in one hand, and a bucket with a small amount of feed in. She was off to meet her new horse to train, a 3 year old belgian filly. She walked up to the gate and saw a stocky chestnut horse in the pasture. She smiled, and stepped over the gate. She would gain the filly's trust before trying to put a headcollar on her. She walked to the middle of the pasture and stood there, letting the horse watch her. She took a step towards the filly, and she snorted and backed up a few steps. Cassie sighed, and sat down on the floor, her back to the mare, knowing curiousity would get the better of her. Sure enough, Cassie heard footsteps behind her. When they came to a stop, she looked over her shoulder. The filly was looking down at her. Cassie got up slowly, trying not to scare her. The filly snorted but didn't move. She didn't look too scared. Cassie held the bowl of food towards her, and the filly snatched some of the food greedily, her huge brown eyes watching Cassie the whole time. "Good girl..." Cassie cooed, reaching out a hand and placing it on her neck. She flinched but didn't move, looking at Cassie out of the corner of her eye. "Good girl!" Cassie ran her hands over her neck, rubbing some of the mud from her. "Clever girl!" she said. She picked the halter up from the ground by her foot and showed it to the filly. She looked at it out of the corner of her eye, her head held high. She let the filly sniff it. "What to call you?" Cassie murmured. "Honey. We'll call you Honey." she said, smiling. She placed the halter on Honey's nose and let the mare get used to it. She slipped the nose band of the halter on her nose. Honey stood there. Cassie moved it further up. Honey snorted. Cassie patted her neck and gently brought the strap up behind her ears. The filly threw her head in the air and snorted, but not looking too bothered. "Good girl!" Cassie gave her a piece of carrot from her pocket. She let Honey get used to the headcollar and her. She sure was a fast learner. After a while, Cassie quietly clipped a lead rope on, and asked Honey to walk on. She just looked at Cassie. "Honey, walk on." she said, tapping the filly on the shoulder and clicking her tongue. Honey took a few hesitant steps foward, and Cassie gave her some more carrot. "Clever girl!" She did this a few more times, a few steps each time. When she was happy with her work, she undid the halter slowly. Honey looked at her as she walked to the gate. Cassie laughed. "See you tomorrow, Honey!"

NEXT DAY.
Cassie walked down to the pastures again, with food and the halter. She let herself in the gate and watched Honey as she looked at Cassie. Cassie held out the food, and Honey hesitantly walked towards it. Cassie petted her and Honey stood there. She slipped the halter on without problems. Honey had obviously been handled a bit before, though not much. She clipped the rope on and walked Honey around the border of her pasture. "Good girl!" she patted her thick neck. "Come on then, Hon." she said. She thought that maybe she could lead her around the barn, so she got used to other horses and people. She was a pretty brave filly, so Cassie decided to go for it. She'd lead her down the track, and then back. She wasn't going to do too much. "Walk on, Honey." she clicked her tongue, and Honey walked next to her, looking around at the trees and flowers. There was a noise in the bushes next to them, and Honey spooked. Cassie patted her neck, and she continued walking fine. They walked up the track, then back to her pasture. Cassie let her off and gave her some more carrot. They'd take it one step at a a time.

As Taylor was walking out to go get Skylar and her filly from the Broodmare Pasture, she saw a girl with familiar blonde ringlets feeding something to a gorgeous chestnut filly. "Hey, Cassie!" Taylor called, jogging up to the fence of the pasture.

Taylor walked into the pasture with Cassie and the filly. She let honey sniff her hand before petting her and seemed to enjoy it when Taylor did pet her. "Honey, is it? Is she yours, or are you just training her?" she asked Cassie while she stroked the chestnut's gleaming neck.

"She's not mine, and yeah, I'm training her for Gena. She's lovely isn't she? I've only been working with her for a few days and she's great!" she patted the filly's neck.

"What kind of horse is she?" Taylor asked, patting the filly's neck.

"She's a Belgian." she smiled and rested her head on Honey's neck.

NEXT DAY. Cassie hopped over the gate and walked straight over to Honey, who wasn't in the least bit bothered when she slipped the halter over her head. "Come on, little girlie. Let's go to the lunge rings." she planned to lunge Honey.
