Name: Milly Harrison
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance: 5'4" tall, thin but built well, has scar on lower back from riding accident. Has dirty blonde hair that is almost waist-length. She has striking blue eyes, freckles, and a smile to die for!
Riding Experience: Considered an advanced rider, has been around horses & riding since she was nine years old, and has tons of show experience through her trainer as a child, and 2 trainers as a more intermediate student. Her most recent trainer (before moving) is the reason she is considered to be an advanced rider and Milly has thanked her many many times for helping her accomplish so much.
Disciplines: She has competed/still competes in: Hunters/Jumpers/Equitation
Personality: Is very eccentric, outgoing and loves to be around people. Her horse is her world and her best friend. She was never really the popular girl at school, always looked at as the nice one once you got to talking with her and got to know her better. Although she is the shy one of the family and her group of friends, she tries harder every time to break out of her shell and meet new people.
History: Milly was born in Baltimore, Maryland before being relocated and practically growing up around horses. Although her family (including parents) are not horse people, but enjoy watching her ride and support her 100%. She started taking lessons at the age of nine, the first time she ever sat on a pony. Once she started riding more, she was offered to ride in shows with her trainer at the time. She ranked in the ribbons and almost always came home with Grand Champion/Reserve Champion ribbons. Now as a seventeen year old, she strives to create the perfect rider/horse team with her horse Quincy. She rescued him as a shy and nervous 3 year old last year and has been working with him, wanting to really take him to the top and become a one-of-a-kind horse!
Riding School: Starryskys
Horses Name: Quick Decision (Nickname: Quincy)
Breed: TBxPercheron
Age: 4
Gender: Gelding
Personality: He will test a rider if he doesn't recognize them, but doesn't do things such as buck or rear or take off with anyone. Instead he will pretend to be lazy and stubborn and make himself look like he does not behave. After about 10 minutes of fighting with him to "go," with a little bit of help the rider can get him to finally move after he realizes that they have passed his test! But he really aims to please his rider (especially Milly) and has accomplished so much since Milly got him and started working with him. Milly is looked at as Quincy's "mom"/savior (rescued him) and every time Quincy sees her he perks his ears up, and starts whinnying to her and won't stop until she has the stall door at least halfway open. He won't do it with anyone else and if Milly isn't able to get to the barn he always has this attitude like he's sad and unhappy without her there. Although if he is in one of his moods, he will be a bit stubborn to work, but is usually always an angel to work with and loves to be in the show ring! He thinks he is all that and is not afraid to strut his stuff. He'll walk into the arena with his head held high and will look at people looking at him as if to say, "Oh yeah, I'm great. You all know it too!"
Disciplines: Hunters/Jumpers/Equitation & some Dressage
Appearance: Quick Decision, a.k.a. "Quincy" is a leggy 17 hand flea bitten grey ThoroughbredxPercheron gelding. He does not have any significant markings on him.
Vices and Quirks: While he has no vices, Quincy does have a quirk! He often will kick the front of his stall door when he sees Milly carrying the tack to his stall, and if he does that you know he is not in the mood to work and will give you an attitude! He usually only does this when it is rainy or really chilly.
Sample Post:
Milly walked into the barn, different scents of the hay, smelly horses, and leather tack greeted her at the barn doors. She walked down and started clicking to Quincy, and never did she ever see a head pop out of the stall door so fast in her life! There was big, handsome Quincy whinnying and waiting for her arrival at the door. He wouldn't stop calling for her until she was physically in the stall. As she walked into the stall she stroked his forehead and neck and took a deep breath in and let it out. Seeing as it was morning time, no one was really at the barn yet. She liked to take early trips to barns before most riders get there. She softly spoke to Quincy, "I hope I like this place just as much as it looks like you do!" She still missed home, her family and friends, but aimed to make new friends here and take Quincy to new heights she's always dreamed of. But Quincy seemed to be settling in just fine, his ears were perked up, he was really interested in surroundings, and was already making friends with his neighboring stall horse and pasture buddies. Milly took another deep breath and said to him, "You sure seem to be making new friends here," and jokingly added, "I'm jealous, you have all the confidence in the world." She left out a chuckle after saying that to him. Even though she felt like she didn't quite fit in yet, she had a really good feeling about where she was, even if she missed everyone back home, she wanted to make a really good experience out of being at a place full of opportunities awaiting her!
