[[DANIEL]]
Daniel strolled into the tack shop, and almost choked in awe. There was literally everything in here! He loked down at the list in his hand and was glad of it, otherwise he would've had no clue where to start. He felt a kind of excited anticipation rise inside him. Last time he'd been here, he'd only bought a halter for Tag, since she wasn't broken yet. Now, his young mare was trained, although still green. And Daniel was capable of walking and trotting independently, and doing well with his lessons. He grinned to himself, excited to buy all of Tag's new things. He looked down at his list to see what he had to buy first.
Looking up from his list, Daniel glanced around the store to find the bridles. He saw them hanging on a wall, and wandered over to them. He found the section that had the right sizes for Tag, and started looking through them. He'd been told it would be a good idea to buy a bridle with a noseband and a drop noseband, since Tag was only young and she'd most likely be strong. Daniel was still learning why some horses needed different equipment to others, but this he understood. He ummed and ahhed over what colour to get Tag. His appaloosa mare was very uniquely marked, and he wanted to stick with the same colour for her. It was just difficult to choose what colour would lok best on her. The halter he'd bought for her a few months ago was bright purple and fluro green, but he didn't really want to stick to that colour code. He picked through al the different colours, and decided that Tag would look best in either red or blue. He frowned, who knew picking tack could be so difficult! He kind of wished Molly was with him to help. She'd know exactly what he would need and what Tag would look best in. He eventually decided on the red, and grabbed it off the rack. Finding a bit would be a little harder, he thought, but that turned out to be easy. A shelf full of boxes of bits was just next to the bridles. Daniel quickly found the right sized snaffle and hooked it over a finger. He realised he would probably need some help carrying his things, so he went to find a shopping cart. Placing the bit and bridle into it, he pushed it around to the other side of the store, where the saddle pads were on display. Sticking with his decision of red things, he selected a quilted red pad with white trimmings, and another, slightly thiner, that was all red. He folded them and placed them into the trolley as well, satisfied. They weren't expensive either, which was a good thing. Although Daniel could now afford a lot more than when he first arrived, he wasn't too keen on spending a fortune on equipment. Wheeling the cart over to the saddles, Daniel grimaced. This was going to be the hard part. Tag had been measured, and Daniel had been told she'd need a 17 inch saddle. He wanted an english one for her, and had been told either a Wintec or a Status would be good quality. There were so many other choices here though! There were dressage saddles, jumping saddles, all purpose saddles and even a saddle for trick riders. Daniel found the first Wintec he saw, and glancd at the price. He liked the saddle, but not enough to buy it for that much.
"Come on," he muttered to himself, still looking. He figured just an all purpose saddle would be okay. He saw a black Status saddle, that came with a girth and stirrups already. It was cheaper than the Wintec had been too. Grinning in triumph, Daniel carefully hoisted the saddle into the cart, and continued looking for things. Now, he needed an extra pair of stirrups, which were easy enough to find.
The next thing he needed was a rug for when Tag was turned out to the pastures. Now that she wasn't a psycho, unbroken filly, she was able to be turned out with the other boarder horses during the day. Daniel needed a rug for her, since she tended to get bumps and welts from insect bites while she was out. He found the rugs, and laughed at one that covered the horse's face and ears completely. Shaking his head, Daniel selected a durable white rug with red trimmings, that covered Tag's neck but stopped at the base of her head. Nodding, he added it to the cart and went over to the grooming supplies. He needed his own grooming kit, with just the basic things in it. He found a clear plastic backpack shaped one, that contained a currycomb, a hoofpick, a soft body brush, and a harder dandy brush. Daniel dumped that into the cart as well, and finally headed over to the counter, smiling to himself.
