Lyla paused for a second by the edge of the ring, inspecting the jumps she put up. Since this was the first time she was jumping here, she set the jumps relatively low for her and King, the highest only reaching 3'3. She grabbed King from the fence and led him to the arena, locking the gate behind them. After she mounted up, she completed a few circuits around the ring at a steady, stretchy trot. After a few minutes, she collected King and put him into a springy and collected frame. She then finished her warm-up by cantering in both directions. Lyla then paused in the center of the ring and looked around, already designing courses in her mind. She wished there was someone to ride with, jumping was always more fun with someone else around.

Jacob had left Storm's stall in hopes to see a rider in action. As he headed towards the jumping arena he thought back to Storm. So far he hadnt seemed aggressive but he wouldnt take him out until he under stood him. As he reached the arena he saw a girl finish her ride, as he clapped he walked closer. Hello there little lady. That was a good ride. Whats your name? he asked his oklahoma accent shined through at moments like these.

"Hey. I'm Lyla, and I'm just getting started." Lyla replied with a smile before pushing King out into a collected, rolling canter, easily popping over the starter jumps she had set up. She then moved on to some of the 3' oxers she had set up. King was flying over everything like it wasn't even there. Lyla had missed her and King's easy companionship. After the last jump, Lyla eased King down to a trot, then to a walk. He had been his fiery little self and was clearly enjoying his time out in the ring. Lyla guided him back over to the fence by the boy and walked him in small circles to cool him out. "I didn't catch your name." Lyla said while looking the boy over.

Lyla smiled at the boy's obvious discomfort. "We should ride together sometime. I know a thing or two about troubled horses." Lyla said with a small laugh. She reached down to stroke King's neck before hopping off and putting up her stirrups. King practically dwarfed Lyla, standing at 16.3 hh and Lyla only at 5'4. "This little rascal here, King, is generally a bit of a crazy little pony. I guess he's just a little tired today from the long drive." Just as Lyla said that, King started prancing in place and nudged her shoulder as if to say, I'm not tired!! "How long have you been riding for?" Lyla didn't normally take to new people this quickly, but hey, she didn't really know anyone here and he seemed nice.

"Oh, cool. I've been riding practically since I could walk. I'd love to help out! What exactly does Storm do that puts him in with 'troubled horses'?" Lyla asked as she opened the gate and led King out. She pulled off her helmet and let her long dark brown hair fall around her shoulders. She quickly put it up in a messy bun on top of her head and turned to start walking back towards the barn.

"Well, I definitely know something about aggressive horses. Lunging sounds good. How are his ground manners? Because as soon as he listens to you on the ground, everything else will start to fall into place." Lyla had helped out her old trainer with some pig-headed three yearolds that were in training, she knew what it took to produce a great horse. Lyla then put King in cross ties by his stall and untacked him. Because of their light work, King hadn't even broken a sweat. Lyla gently brushed him, picked his feet, and put him back in his stall. She then walked back to Jacob. "So, let's see about this problem pony."
