Taylor strolled into the pet shop, greeted by the sounds and smells of many different animals. All the animals were cute, but what Taylor really wanted was a puppy; she'd wanted one since she was a little girl. She walked past many dogs and puppies, until she came across an adorable litter of Labrador Retriever puppies. She sat down on the floor so the puppies could see her better, and stuck her fingers through the bars of the pen. The puppies let out little barks and scrambled around her fingers, licking them and, (in some cases) chewing on them. The closest puppy to her was a beautiful chocolate one rolled over on her back, showing of her pink belly. "Hey, sweetheart," Taylor said softly to the puppy, stretching her hand in farther and patting the little pup on her soft belly. She then stood up and looked at the information card for the litter. Breed: Labrador Retrievers. Ages: One month, three weeks. Colors: Two yellow females, three yellow males, one chocolate female, one chocolate male Other: The puppies have been house-trained, but don't have names yet. All have good behaviors and do not bite when people handle them while they are eating. Taylor looked back at that one chocolate female, and knew that her heart belonged to that puppy; just as her Paint mare, Skylar, had stollen her heart when she was eleven; also like the time when her horse had her first foal, a filly, who stole Taylor's heart as well. She saw a clerk handling some hamsters not too far away, so Taylor seized her chance: "Excuse me, can I buy this female chocolate lab puppy?" she asked her. Attachments:

I looked over and smiled. Yet another customer had fallen prisoner to our adorable labrador pups. I walked over to the pen and nodded. "Of course," I smiled. I unlocked the pen and reached in, picking up the squirming puppy. She turned in my arms and licked my face before I handed her to the girl. "She's a cutie, that one," I said as I closed the pen and relocked it after giving each of the pups a little scratch. "She's really friendly too," I added with a laugh, as the pup wriggled around with her tail wagging a million miles an hour.

Taylor laughed at the way the puppy wagged her tail so fast. "She is really cute," she agreed. "That's why I liked her, that and she seems nice." The puppy squirmed around in her arms for a second, then reached out her neck and started licking Taylor's face furiously.

I smiled. The girl was spot on about the pup. "Are you going to be needing a collar for her?" I asked. We'd just got a really cool variety of collars and leads in. I smiled at the girl and waited for her answer. "Oh, and puppy food is just over there." I pointed to a shelf stacked with cans and packets of soft food and dog biscuits.

"Yeah I'll need a collar and lead," ahe said, nodding. "Do you have any Purina Puppy Chow? I've heard it's good for puppies."

I smiled. "Right over here then," I showed her. "You can try a few on her to see which one you like," I said. I nodded and grabbed some of her requested brand off the shelf. "Yeah, it is good for them," I said. "It's reccommended by quite a few breeders around here." I tucked the puppy food under my arm and gestured to the small size collars. "These ones are probably gonna fit her the best," I offered with a smile.

"Thanks," Taylor, said, smiling at her. She looked at some of the collars and found a dark green one with shiny purple paw prints on it. "Oh, what about this one!"

I smiled. "That's cute!" I said. "It would suit her well I think. Why don't you try it on her?" I smiled at the girl and her puppy. I loved helping people to choose their new pets.

"Okay," Taylor said. She took the collar of the rack and fitted it around the puppy's neck with one hand. It really did look nice on her. "So how much food should I give her?"

I smiled. "That's cute," I said. I showed the girl the back of the puppy food packet. "It says how much to give her here," I said, pointing. "Basically it's three small portions a day, basically feed her when you have breakfast, lunch and dinner," I explained. "And as she gets bigger, the information's all on here," I said. "They make it easy to understand," I laughed.

"Yeah, they do," Taylor said, laughing a little too. "So what about a dog bed?"

I smiled. This puppy was going to have a great home with her friendly owner! "We have a lot of beds," I said, showing her where they were. "They're a bit expensive, but they're a good investment. Unless of course she chews it up," I laughed. I gestured to the puppy size beds, which all had cute designs on them and were plush and comfortable.

"Yeah, I've heard labradors are big time chewers," Taylor said, glancing at the puppy. She spotted a rather pricy, but cute, black dog bed with multi-colored hearts printed all around it.

I laughed. "All puppies are, but she'll come good with time," I said with a smile. I saw her glancing at the heart bed, and smiled to myself. "That's a cute one," I said, watching as the girl chose a bed for her new puppy. (gahhhh we just bought a puppy!!! she's sooo cute!! :L )

(I want a puppy in real life so bad, you lucky little person!)
"So how much will she and all this cost?" Taylor asked, after making certain that she did want that dog bed.

(haha I never thought I'd convince my Dad to get her! But he actually gave in pretty much right away!)
I smiled and then scanned all the items at the counter, adding in the price of the pup. "This'll all be two hundred and thirty four dollars," I told her. I opened a drawer underneath the desk and pulled out the puppy's papers. "Here's all her details, including when she was last wormed and everything," I said, handing the papers to the girl with a smile.
(Sorry if the price seems weird haha, I basically just go off what everything would cost in Australia ;P )

(My dad would never give in to buying a puppy like that!)
"Wow, that's pricy!" Taylor exclaimed. She pulled her wallet out of her pocket and took out the money, and handed it over. "Thanks." Taylor took the papers and skimmed through the pages absently; she'd look at them later.
(Oh that's okay, puppies can cost up to $800, you know?)

(haha neither would mine usually :S )
I grimaced a little. "Yeah, sorry about that," I said with a shrug. I took the money and put it in the till. "Not a problem. I hope you enjoy having her around," I smiled.
(haha yeah i know. My puppy was only $50!! and shes purebred!)

I smiled and nodded. "Not a problem," I said to her. I gave the pup a little scratch behind her ear as a goodbye. "Be good in your new home!" I said to her playfully. "Have a nice day," I smiled to the girl.
(i know right!)
